A series of deadly tornadoes hit hard in the Midwest. At least 70 people are are confirmed dead as Kentucky takes the brunt of the damage. Unfortunately, this is only the beginning, as many more dozens or even hundreds of people are missing, presumed dead under scores of building rubble. Winds that whip up in speed of excess of 150 miles per hour will wipe out most structures in its path. We’ve been lucky the past few years and have sustained minimal damage. In the past, though, damages from tornadoes routinely created more fatalities, so advances in technology and response time has greatly mitigates its effect. Still, Mother Nature ignites her fury at times and there is very little that can be done.
