United States Senator Joe Manchin, Democratic senator from relatively conservative West Virginia, has his honor and isn’t going to throw it away over a 3.5 trillion-dollar spending spree. Today he announced his decision not to support the devastating bill, fulfilling a pledge he made months ago. The Senator said he is not a liberal who is going to support this spending bill, which could actually go as high as six trillion dollars. This would utterly destroy the ability not just to curb inflation in the United States, but to utterly destroy the entire economic machine. Speaker Pelosi said she would never bring a bill before congress if she didn’t have the vote, so today she didn’t bring up the spending bill.
Kyrsten Sinema is also on the same side as Senator Joe Manchin, although she is weighing her options based upon a volatile political environment in Arizona. Both of these Democratic stalwarts hold on to their honor as they ensure that their states and are not going to let a monster bill of 3.5 trillion-dollar spending bill go unpaid for. But keep in mind that $3.5 trillion is only the STARTING point, and the real cost is actually closer to $6 trillion. Keep in mind that very little is actually going for infrastructure, and most of it is going to projects specifically designed to help the Democratic Party and its supporters. This is not the United States I grew up in, and I fear if we let it get out of hand it will never recover. Just look at Venezuela, where over 70% of the population officially lives in extreme poverty due to one-party takeover of the government. If it happens here, it will get even uglier.
