Record shoppers expected for Black Friday; new Covid-19 variant name assignment skips “xi” to avoid Chinese premiere’s name

November 26, 2021 by Robert Jordan

This day is called Black Friday for it is the first Friday after thanksgiving. A record 100 million shoppers are expected to fill the malls, shops, and online portals. They are expecting over 60% of these shoppers are expected to be in person shopping.

In medical news, virologists have introduced a new variant of Covid-19 called Omicron. Keep in mind that we have had several variants, all named after the Greek alphabet, and have gone in order of each letter. However, the letter “xi” was skipped, as many Republican cynics said this was intentionally done to prevent people associating a new Covid variant with the Chinese premier, Xi Jinping. As expected, the stock market took a huge hit as the new strain is purportedly hitting South Africa like a storm.
