We need more truckers, transportation industry workers, and vaccinated, Covid-19-free union longshoremen to get this country moving again. With the Biden administration mandating that people get the entire regimen of Covid-19 shots (currently at two plus one, and soon to be two, booster shots) workers who refused to get the shots are being fired from their jobs. In particular, teachers, medical nurses, doctors, and cargo transportation industry workers are being fired or let go at a pace not seen in the history of the country. It is so bad that some stores are hiring at 16 dollars an hour to start, so their weekly wages for a 40-hour workweek is $640 before taxes. If you work over time it then rises to 24 dollars an hour. So all I can say is stop giving people so much unemployment money for so long. At this rate, along with free job training, we could get our country back to work and fast. But if the Biden Administration wants to mandate vaccines for all, whether or not the people want to take them or can’t take them due to medical or religious exemptions, then people will be hesitant to start work again.
