Today’s op-ed will be a bit shorter today. This beautiful Sunday morning has a tone of bright skies, while we get ready for a news cycle for the coming week. The Trillion-dollar spending bill just passed the United States House of Representatives. The big bill and wouldn’t have passed in the House unless the Republicans has 13 members to side with the Democrats. Last Tuesday, the Republicans won big in Virginia and the Democrat party has really been handed what appears to be a huge loss in the midterms in a year’s time. Time to go watch the NFL, which is reeling back from the kneeling controversy started during the National Anthem a few years ago.
Democrats should not be removing statues and shutting down police departments
Our Democratic party has really shot itself in the foot. When you remove Abraham Lincoln from schools and remove his statues from parks, streets, your in a deep mess. Democrats your losing all identity and what is left but a hole in your history. You can change a person’s name from a street, but you can’t change your past. To try to do that so you can change history is sad. Now I don’t understand what there is to be afraid of except what you let bother yourself, but try to imagine the theory behind your move and stop think for a while and get a grip. I am a Democrat and I know our party is going through a lot of changes, but to destroy statues and remove law enforcement officers from police departments is where I draw a line. I am proud of our police officers who risk it all to protect me and everyone else so if I may say this grow up get into reality and move on.
Personal story on shipping costs overseas to family
This article hits home for me because my wife wants to send goods to the Philippines. I have a 13-year-old niece, Lian. We have promised many presents but they won’t get to her by Christmas. We have bought her shirts, shorts, shoes, and many presents but the shipping time was 2 months by LBC which ships but it will take 4 months to get to her. Now we have shipped a couple of items to Lian, as well as my wife’s brother, but the cost of air freight cost us for a little box cost us $110 for a couple of pounds. We can fill a huge LBC box with contents that weigh about 65 pounds, which costs a more reasonable $75.
Both cost and delivery times have skyrocketed in recent months due to Covid-19 restrictions affecting all aspects of the shipping industry: truck driver shortages, dock loading and unloading bottlenecks, and massive increases in regulations and fees. There are literally dozens of cargo ships just outside our ports of Los Angeles (San Pedro) and Long Beach, including one ship that caused an environmental disaster by breaking an oil pipeline with an anchor.
To our niece, Lian: we love you and next year when you get your goodies know we bought all the clothes for you our of our Love. Please let all of our family members: aunts, cousins, and siblings know that we love them all. Merry Christmas! Sincerely Robert and Susan Jordan owner of Shockwave.us.
John Durham indicts third conspirator in alleged Russian collusion probe
Special prosecutor John Durham indicted his third person in his investigation of the falsified Clinton/Russian collusion probe of candidate, then President Donald Trump. Igor Danchenko was arrested and charged with lying to the FBI on three counts. This indictment has potential significant ties to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Clinton Foundation. This investigation is gathering steam like an old steam train getting ready to head out into the vast open lands of the United States in the 1800’s.
The question on everyone’s mind is if the investigation will get to the point where he can indict Hillary Clinton, among others still in government, with trying to overthrow President Trump while he was in office. If this happens, it will be the first time a former presidential candidate is charges with a felony of such magnitude.
GOP sweeps Virginia executive branch, retakes House; Atlanta wins series in 6
Republican Glenn Youngkin has won the governor’s race for the state of Virginia, along with the Republicans retaking the state house of the legislature. This will put an end to the inroads that progressive have saddled onto their citizenry, with moderate Democrats holding the key to safe, sensible legislation along with the Republicans. In addition, Winsome Sears easily won the Lt. Governor seat, becoming the first black female to hold a major state office, as well as Jason Miyares, who became the first Latino elected for state attorney general, to complete the GOP sweep for the three statewide offices.
The election losses in Virginia for the Democrats makes the November 2022 midterm elections extremely troubling for the party. There are two major bills in the United States Congress which aren’t looking good, and the Democrats may be in trouble. Will House Speaker Nancy Pelosi be able to bring home the bacon? Looking back at the Obama administration when Speaker Pelosi pushed through the Affordable Care Act during President Obama’s 1st term, it caused the Democrats to loose both chambers of Congress to the Republicans by 2014, and it is looking that way right now.
In other news, Atlanta won game 6 to take the World Series over Houston to complete their unlikely bid to win. They had finished the regular season at 87-75, barely holding on to secure the last wild card in the league, then went on to win the wild card game, the National League Division Series, the National League Championship Series, and finally the World Series. What made their win even sweeter was that Major League Baseball had pulled the All-Star Game last July because the state enacted common sense voting laws.
Braves leading World Series, VA And NJ governor races in tonight’s spotlight
Today is Game 6 of the world series between the Atlanta Braves and the Houston Astros. With Atlanta Braves leading the series 3 games to 2 in a seven-game series, the Braves need only one more win for Atlanta to net them a World Series victory. An interesting sidebar is that Atlanta was stripped of its All-Star game because of their vote to tighten up voter laws, so this would be sweeet revenge if they pull it off.
In to the political arena all eyes are on the Virginia and New Jersey governors’ races. Early on it was favored for the Democrats but the Democrats stuck to Critical Race Theory (CRT, now known as “Social Emotional Learning”), and Bingo! It was a gift to the Republicans, who now have new life and they are taking advantage of this gift. It sure looks like Glenn Youngkin has the race in hand but he isn’t just going to watch on the last day he has a few campaign speeches to give. The Democrats are preaching CRT, which essentially pits the color of one’s skin to the quality of a persons character. I am the owner of Shockwave.us, and though I’m a democrat, I am against CRT. If this kind of nonsense continues in my party I may be running for President of the United States for 2024 but I am still deciding. If I do decide to run I will make the decision sometime in January of next year.
Terry McAuliffe’s potentially devastating mistake
Former Democrat VA governor Terry McAuliffe is trying to stick his GOP opponent, Glenn Youngkin, as a “(Donald) Trump puppy.” But Youngkin is not falling into the trap of defending his party affiliation with the former president.
McAuliffe’s statement that parents should stay out of curriculum of the school boards was a deadly mistake. When you make statements telling mothers to stay out of school board meetings, you have just opened a can of worms which McAuliffe made. America is free and when you tell all these mother bears which guard their little cubs you will be mauled which is what has happened to Terri McAuliffe. All these Virginians will come out for Glenn Yoiungkin, yet the Democrats from Washington D.C. just don’t get it, and just like in nature, the rule is simple: NEVER attack a mother defending her child.
Robert Jordan’s Sunday op-ed
President Joseph Biden is at the G20 conference this week, where the may topic will be about energy. Specifically, they plan on putting out the boldest climate change regulations ever conceived, which is why the conference is being boycotted by China and Russia. For they are the 2 largest polluters in the world, far outpacing even that of the United States. However, the media and the Democratic Party are insisting that we achieve a goal of zero CO2 emissions by 2050, which is currently a technological impossibility. It really is pathetic to see our President promising the G20 something that he has no control over. China and Russia must be laughing all the way to their oil and coal fields, which they have increased production by at least 20% since 2016.
President Joseph Biden then gave five hand-picked reporters, who gave there questions and answers prior to the meeting. Since Fox News, the only relatively non-progressive news outlet on the trip refused to give their questions beforehand, they were not allowed to participate in this fake presser. Hopefully I’ll have better news to report next week as Congress are scheduled to vote on the two major infrastructure and budget bills next week.
President Biden’s performance threatens Terry McAuliffe’s gubernatorial bid in Virginia
While stumping for Terry McAuliffe in Virginia, President Biden invoked the name of former president Donald Trump for most of his speech. But it may be having the opposite effect. As President Biden’s numbers are the lowest of any recorded president in history, even lower than the media-denigrated Donald Trump, while slews of Trump supporters heckled his speech, the net effect of Biden’s speech was to lower, not raise, the popularity of Terry McCauliffe. With his Vice President, Kamala Harris, polling even lower than Spiro Agnew in the 70’s (remember him?), the administration had best do its politicking by doing their jobs. But if part of this is advocating almost half a million dollars per illegal immigrant who comes into this country, displacing several American jobs in the process, Biden’s popularity will not have the effect that the Democratic Party needs as we approach the critical midterm election season.
Fortunately for Terry McAuliffe, despite several blunders, their voting operation appears to be working like clockwork with the fortification measures in place around the state, and it looks as if they will squeak by even though they should rightly win by at least 10 points if they didn’t pursue unpopular subjects such as vaccine mandates and critical race theory in the schools.
Budget deal still going badly for Democrats amidst Biden mental frailty
Troubling news shows more problems plague the Democrats in Washington. They were hoping to have the infrastructure vote by today but they don’t have the votes so it didn’t happen. President Biden has been to Congress twice this week hoping to get enough people to vote on the infrastructure bill. He also signaled an acceptance to sign a lowered spending bill from 3.5 trillion dollars to 1.75 trillion dollars, but they still didn’t have the votes to get it passed the bill. They made a calculated decision to exclude all GOP input into the bill, which limits their options as well. To be blunt, it has to many regulation changes and additions to the code about immigration, immediate citizenship for illegal aliens, and a huge amount of money for immigrants (up to $450,000 per person) who were split up upon coming into the United States a few years ago.
While the budget debate remains at front and center of Washington policy today, the medical condition of President Biden, as well as the fact that his poll numbers are at their lowest levels since he took the oath of office. In an interview at one point, President Biden appeared to be completely out of sorts, not even wondering where he has talking from. At this point, I am not sure if he even knows his name or where he is. I feel sorry for him, he seems alone. And where is his wife who let him down for her to be on the campaign trail? She is so power hungry that she has left her husband out to dry. Pathetic!
Virginia Governor race comes down to the wire
A recent Fox News poll showed former VA governor Terry McAuliffe up by 5 points last week, only to have him down by 8 points this week. The fact that voting has been going on for a long time though meaning many have already voted so it may be a little to late for the GOP Glenn Youngkin for the Governor of Virginia which ends shortly. In addition, the Democrats have a crack get-out-the-vote operation which blasts the GOP’s similar efforts out of the water.
But can Republican Glenn Youngkin beat out Democrat Terry Mcauliffe for governor of Virginia? Voting is highly volatile. Former president Obama did come out and appear in Virginia for Terry McAuliffe but the polls show that the current administration is way down in popularity, so it’s going to be a wild last ditch effort for both candidates.
Crime out of control with President Biden’s no-bail policy
President Biden’s agenda has mandated to courts across the country that eliminate most bail since he was elected In January. However, this does allow criminals to be released directly after booking. Unfortunately, many times when you release a criminal back onto the street they go out and commit more crimes, including murder, even before their court date for their original charge. In many cases, the criminal doesn’t have any hope so they keep robbing, doing drugs, and committing domestic violence. It’s just a vicious circle.
What effect does this have for American society as a whole? When it comes to voting, the parents of the criminal don’t want to end up in prison with long sentences that are long, so they vote Democrat to keep out of jail. Unfortunately, this hurts the elderly, the car owner, the house dweller, and frankly all of the American people. I have never seen our country in this poor situation.
